Costa Rican Resorts and Hotels Sweep Trip Advisor’s 2013 Traveler’s Choice Awards

Receives six of top 10 destination and 16 of top 25 hotel awards

San Jose, Costa Rica – January 9, 2014 – The world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor, has announced its 2013 Travelers’ Choice Awards. Once again, hotels in Costa Rica continue to sweep the industry with some of the top ratings. This year, less than one percent of all destinations listed on TripAdvisor received Travelers’ Choice Awards.

Costa Rica stands as the most visited destination in the Central American Region. “These important awards complement our governmental efforts to bring superb experiences and sustainable tourism to every part of Costa Rica,” said Minister of Tourism Allan Flores.

Five out of 10 Costa Rican destinations were included in the “Top 10 Destinations in Central America.” These include:

  • No. 2, San Jose.
  • No. 3, La Fortuna de San Carlos.
  • No. 4, Tamarindo.
  • No. 6, Jaco.
  • No. 8, Santa Teresa.
  • No. 9, Quepos.

La Fortuna de San Carlos hotels proved to be popular among TripAdvisor members, as eight of the region’s hotels made the list of “Top 25 Hotels in Costa Rica.”

Additionally, the Nayara Hotel, Spa and Gardens in Costa Rica was ranked No. 1 in the “Top 25 Hotels in Central America” list. Other notable properties that made it on the list are:

  • No. 8, The Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal.
  • No. 10, Hotel Royal Corin.
  • No. 11, Arenal Springs Resort and Spa.
  • No. 14, Arenal Manoa Hotel & Spa.
  • No. 16, Hotel Mountain Paradise.
  • No. 21, Casa Luna Hotel and Spa.
  • No. 23, Arenal Kioro.

Costa Rica and its hotels and resorts also top numerous other Trip Advisor awards.
